Pre & Post Skin Care

Waxing Contraindications

For facial waxing & skin lightening - if you are using Retina - A, Glycolic Acid, Salicylic Acid, Renova, Differin, Avage, Avita, Strivectin, Tazorac, Pro Active, Benzoyl Peroxide, or any other prescription exfoliants for skincare, discontinue use for one week prior to your waxing treatment.

For both body and facial waxing & skin lightening- any oral or topical antibiotics should be discontinued for one week prior to any waxing treatment. Topical products and treatments should be stopped at least one month to six months prior to waxing. These medications and/or treatments compromise the integrity of the skin making it much more sensitive and will pull, rip, or burn the skin if used in conjunction with waxing. Very important!

This is only a guideline. Please carefully review products and medication you are using and consult with your doctor.

Hair grows in 3 stages and it can take 4-6 waxing treatments before most of the hair is on the same growth cycle. Your first wax may last only one week, it may last up to three weeks. It just depends on your own genetics. The more you wax the longer it will last. For your first wax after shaving, let the hair grow out for about 4 weeks. I know, it sucks but its totally worth it. I promise!

I recommend waxing every 4 to 6 weeks.

Pre Wax Care

  • Non-aspirin product (Ibuprofen, Advil, e.g) can be used one hour before treatment.

  • Exfoliate two days prior to your wax with a gentle scrub.

  •  Avoid caffeinated drinks and alcohol a few hours before the treatment, as they make the skin more sensitive.

  • The best time to wax is the first two weeks after your period.

Post Wax Care

  • Avoid swimming and sunning for at least two or three days.

  •  Wear loose and cotton clothing, Avoid wearing leggings for the first few days.

  • Avoid hot tubs, hot baths, and other chlorinated water for at least 24 hours.

  • Sweating can trigger skin problems. After waxing your skin becomes more vulnerable to skin irritation and inflammation. So, you should not attain exercise sessions right after.

  • Avoid deodorant for underarm waxing.

  • Avoid highly fragranced product to the waxing area.

  • Avoid applying self-tanning product and tan accelerators for 12-24 hours.

  • For any bikini waxing, no heavy petting until the redness subside. Friction causes irritation and inflammation.

  • Exfoliate the waxed area 2-3 times a week followed by recommended ingrown serum and moisturize to prevent ingrown hairs, itching, and dry skin.

Pre Lamination Care

  • Do not trim or cut hairs within 4 weeks of desired appointment to avoid compromised results.

  • Refrain from tweezing any miscellaneous hairs that you might think are not useful.

Post Lami/Lash Lift Care

  • No excess moisture or heat. Avoid wetting lashes for a minimum of 24hrs.

  • Avoid swimming, hot showers/baths, or saunas for 24hrs. This includes drinking hot beverages and eating hot foods, and cooking over stoves. Not avoiding will affect the longevity.

  • No makeup for 24hrs or using waterproof products.

  • No side sleeping or face sleeping, only on back for first 24hrs only. Not avoiding, will misshape the brows and/or lashes.

  • Gently cleanse the face over brows and lashes.

  • Nourish brows with a deep conditioner during shower time just as you would if you bleached your hair on your head. Apply conditioning oils to the brows and lash serums on lashes nightly to continuously hydrate hairs so they can grow seamlessly with no kinks from growth.

  • Can not get lash lift or brow lamination for a minimum of 8 weeks or 12 weeks depending if your brows/lashes show signs of lamination or lift.

Recommend servicing brows 4-6weeks between lamination treatments 8-12weeks.
